So, I've been to Mississippi and now I have coffee roasted there. Specifically coffee roasted in Jackson, MS.
I found it to be a wonderful workday coffee. It was a good cup to have on my desk while I got some stuff done. Or at least tried to get stuff done - I'm not always good at sitting and working.
All resulted in a very balanced cup. It was slightly sweet in a fruity way. Mild cocoa and a nutty taste rounded it out for me. Not overpowering coffee but not invisible either. I hate when coffee is little more than bitter brown water or when it is so intense that you feel it in your sinuses. This one was there and tasty and went well with my breakfast. The brightness was good in the morning, but not so much that it was too much at lunch time. Went well with my grilled cheese with cheddar, goat cheese and pablanos. It was great with a sausage and egg scramble, but not so much with asparagus soup or a big bowl of chex honey nut cereal.
I'm sure I'm all sorts of annoying when people ask me if I want coffee with my meal. Not all coffee pairs well with all foods - but my instance on that has resulted in some very blank stares.
The packaging was good. Valved bag, metal tie to keep it closed. Shipped fast with a tracking number and confirmation email.
I also ordered a mug which you have seen in the previous photos.
I like it. I'm a fan of simple mugs in 3 or fewer colors. This one has two. :-)
The company's About Us page ends with "We put everything we have into making your cup perfect and we hope you enjoy"
You can tell they do put a lot of heart into it and I certainly did enjoy the result.
